U.S. Air Force, Terra-Gen and ±ØÍþÌåÓý¹Ù·½APPÏÂÔØ Unveil Edwards Solar Project
±ØÍþÌåÓý¹Ù·½APPÏÂÔØ was on hand to help the United States Air Force 412th Test Wing unveil the Edwards Solar project â€ located on the Edwards Air Force Base in Kern County, California â€ at a ribbon cutting ceremony on February 2, 2023. The Edwards facility is part of the Edwards & Sanborn Solar + Storage project that ±ØÍþÌåÓý¹Ù·½APPÏÂÔØ is building in partnership with Terra-Gen. It has almost two million solar panels installed and will have 120,000+ batteries installed at completion. As the largest Solar + Storage project in the world, it can supply up to 1,300 megawatts of power to the California Independent System Operator grid â€ estimated to power over 238,000 homes.
During the ceremony, Dan Johnson, CEO, ±ØÍþÌåÓý¹Ù·½APPÏÂÔØ began by thanking all the entities involved in this monumental project and then acknowledged all of those whose hard work on the ground made it possible. “Projects like [Edwards & Sanborn] are modern marvels in engineering, construction, cooperation, and collaboration. It takes a commitment from each party to make it all possible, but today I would especially like to acknowledge the men and women in the field whose minds and muscle designed, procured, and built this facility.â€ He also pointed out the amazing statistic that these “skilled craft team members put in over one million hours of consecutive work without a recordable injuryâ€.
