As part of Abbott Northwestern Hospital鈥檚 Campus Revitalization and Allina Health's commitment to delivering whole-person care, the healthcare system is investing in a new Surgical and Critical Care Pavilion (SCCP). The 10-story, 690,000-square-foot SCCP will provide state-of-the-art critical care for the community, replacing the hospital鈥檚 existing operating rooms and creating new care environments for patients, visitors and staff. The new facility will be LEED certified in alignment with Allina Health鈥檚 commitment to environmental sustainability.
The new bed tower will be constructed in the middle of the active Abbott Northwestern Hospital campus in south Minneapolis. One wing of the building will replace an existing four-story parking ramp on 10th Avenue. Maintaining access to care for patients, staff, and visitors is critical to the success of this project. Detailed planning and communications for all stakeholders and the community is paramount.听
Construction on the enabling work started spring 2023, with the facility's first patient arriving in 2026.
